If the player or banker’s hand's total value is zero to five points, they will receive a third card. However, if either of the hands adds up to 10 or more points, the first digit in the total is dropped. For example, a hand that adds up to 11 points is worth one point, a hand that adds up to 14 is worth four points, and a hand that adds up to 18 points is worth eight points.

There are two important rules about the points that need to be remembered. Firstly, if either the banker or the player receives an eight or a nine with their first two cards, a natural win is declared, and bets are paid out, ending the game immediately. Secondly, if a tie occurs, all wagers are returned.
